DEI: What It Is and Why It Matters

“Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a term used to describe policies and programs that promote the representation and participation of different groups of individuals, including people of different ages, races and ethnicities, abilities and disabilities, genders, religions, cultures and sexual orientations.”

Monica O. Montgomery is a museum leader, (DEI) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practitioner and graduate professor, who uses her platforms to be in service to society, working at the intersection of equity, community and diversity.  In this conversation, Monica explains what it looks like to include diverse backgrounds and perspectives and how to make sure people are treated respectfully.
