O' Holy Night
Dec 20, 2012Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
~O’ Holy Night
In this season when Christians around the world celebrate Christmas, we love listening to what is our favorite carol, O Holy Night. It is these words from the song that speak most to us because this is what we value most and hope to share and exemplify to everyone we meet. That love is the answer.
It is love that brings us peace.
It is love that brings equality.
It is love that brings breaks the chains of oppression.
Love—simply put.
And what is this love?
It is when we show that we care for one another.
It is when we show compassion to one another.
It is when we show pure grace with one another.
It is when we forgive one another.
It is when we listen closely to one another.
It is when we are patient with one another.
It is when we allow each other to be fully human.
It is when we walk with someone in their sorrow and their joy.
It is when we want what is best for one another.
That is what these words mean to us. That is what this season is about, reminding us about what love really is.
