This is a powerful commentary from the New York Times today.  David Brooks has articulated very profoundly – in “Stairway to Wisdom” what it really takes to understand one another.  It truly is walking alongside someone, through the good and the bad, the joyous and the sad.  It is being willing to be vulnerable with others and to accept that life is complicated, that circumstances rarely, if ever, fit into neat, clean boxes.  It is about listening with compassion and being present in an empathetic way.  This, we believe, enables us to love and be loved, to know and be known.  This is what all of us, ultimately, need.  This is also what Someone To Tell It To is all about.
