We Listen We Care We Support We Affirm

We connect with a person and we accompany them on their journey, to remind them that they are not alone.

WHO…………. do we serve?

We serve those who are lonely, grieving, struggling with matters of faith, or those who are have been abused, are living with addictions, and in isolation. We serve those who need to be encouraged in a non-judgmental way to find their own path toward self-worth, spiritual clarity, physical health and wholeness.

HOW…………. do we serve?

We listen with respect and intention and treat each person with dignity. We believe that everyone has a story to tell and deserves to be heard. We provide a presence that enables mutual trust leading to openness, self-discovery and understanding. To be clear, we never view people through the filter of a diagnosis or pathology.

WHERE……… do we meet people?

We go wherever a person feels safest. We work with people to create environments that build trust, create emotional openness, and develop spirit. Depending on the person, it could mean coffee shops, diners or homes. For others, hiking trails, park benches or a meaningful connection through technology (Skype, email, text) is preferred.

THE SOLUTION:

We Listen We Care We Support We Affirm

The Someone To Tell It To model of intentional listening, compassionate presence, and meeting people in safe environments is inviting and non-threatening. We believe in taking the time to build trust, in asking good and incisive questions, and in authentic, non-judgmental care.

We are comfortable and equipped to explore others’ questions about faith and the role of God in our lives, without projecting personal views that could close doors to open, enriching dialogue. We are willing to give people as much time as they reasonably need to get to the heart of matter, when few others will. Our services are donation-based and do not turn people away based on their ability or inability to pay for care.

We strive to bring unconditional love, abundant hope, abiding peace, and amazing grace to everyone who reaches out for emotional and spiritual support. We also reach out to those we know need to feel that someone cares.

WHAT DO WE DO?

LISTEN with intention and without judgment.

BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S PAIN with them – compassionately and empathetically.

WALK WITH OTHERS, SIT WITH THEM IN THEIR DISTRESS AND PAIN, BE FULLY PRESENT with them to allow them to share in safety.

GUIDE people to find the answers they need to help heal their distress.

GIVE PERMISSION for people to do the things that they know are good and right.

PRAY with people when they request it, to help connect them to the heart of God.
